The eternal question asked & answered again

In light of the disaster in south asia, Don Boudreaux points out that again (as with all natural disasters) there is now a massive supply and demand gap for any number of goods that will now have to be rationed. The question that always comes up is "Price controls?", but Don swats that away and lets us know the real question is always and everywhere "How to ration scarce supplies?" and answers that rationing by non-price means are not necessarily (or often) in the interests of the poor or of justice.

You know a natural disaster

You know a natural disaster has occurred when, as Radley would say, you see Don Boudreaux standing near a barrel. Easy pickin's, and nobody does it better than he.
