When it rains in Spain, it pours

First, terrorists make innocents pay for the government's support of the Iraq War, then - based on mortal fear - citizens decide to vote a band of socialists into power. A literal one-two punch in the groin for freedom-loving Spaniards.

It's certainly never a good

It's certainly never a good thing when any group that openly calls themselves "socialists" get voted into power. However, I've already grown annoyed with the American conservative counterreaction--that the Spanish vote conclusively demonstrates that terrorists influence elections. It may or may not be true in the Spanish case, I don't know at this moment. But the conservative reaction I've seen is pointing in the direction of "a vote for Kerry is a vote for the terrorists". This annoys me not because I don't think Kerry wouldn't be a bad president, but because it implies any criticism of Bush--whatever the source--is support for terrorism.
