Justice turned upside-down

In my younger wilder days, I partook in numerous post-victory on the field celebrations as the hokies climbed into college football's upper echelon. I knew that in such a mob scene, the potential for injury to my person was not small. Especially around the goalposts. Simply by running onto the field from the safety of the stands, I was putting myself in danger, and it was my responsibility to take care of myself. If something had happened to me, it would have been my fault.

Yet, former Ball State student Andrew Bourne who was injured in just such a post-game celebration is suing goalpost maker Marty Gilman, Inc for the goalposts being "designed and constructed in a manner which allowed them to suddenly snap and collapse."
